FILM MAGAZINE: OUTLINE

                           Film Magazine: Outline.

The Purpose
ACT!ON is a film magazine designed to appeal to all audiences, through a wide range of articles, spanning from interviews to reviews and information on the latest releases.

The main purpose of this film magazine is to inform while simultaneously entertaining. Due to my initial research people between the ages of 17- 25 are most likely to buy film magazines, therefore in order to achieve maximum sales profit my magazine must appeal to this age demographic. My secondary research showed that people within this age bracket favour action, comedic and horror orientated movies. Due to this study, the action, comedy and horror genres will be the main focus of each months issue, while other genres such as romance and indie films will still be included, they will be smaller segments of magazine content. This could help achieve maximum sales by appealing to the mainstream audience while still providing other audiences with quality content.

The Cost
The average cost of distributing a magazine is roughly $20,000 per month, if 2 issues are released per month ($10,000 each). Writers of the magazine will receive the biggest cut, with a total $4,000 going to the writers team alone. The rest of the money will go to the editors, photographers, illustrators etc.

The Profit
If 100,000 copies of our magazine is sold each month (similar to Empire magazine's units) and each copy of our magazine is sold for $2.50, this means that our company will make a profit of $250,000 a month. This will hugely benefit the magazine as more money can be spent on advertising, more celebrity interviews and most of all an increase in pay for the employees to create a better work environment and morale.
